Pixel Mirror downloads the front end of a website as static HTML, CSS, JavaScript and images, packaged into a zip that opens and runs even with no connection. You paste a URL, the tool crawls the site and lists the pages it found, you tick the ones you want, and it hands back the result.
There are two capture modes. Full opens each page in a real Chromium browser, so it captures sites that build their content with JavaScript after load - which is most modern sites. Lite fetches the HTML over plain HTTP with no browser, which is far lighter and is the only option on shared hosting, where Chromium cannot be installed.
While it runs, the tool rewrites every asset reference to a relative path and downloads the images, fonts and stylesheets into the same folder, so the copy no longer depends on the origin server. You also choose how JavaScript is handled: keep it, or strip it so the copy is a purely static interface.
This is the only tool on Toolbox that needs a server, because a browser will not let a web page fetch content from another domain on its own. Clones are deleted automatically after a configured interval.
Use this on sites you own, for archiving, or where you have the owner permission. The design and content of someone else website remain theirs, even once you have a copy on disk.
What it does
Crawls and lists pages
Reads the sitemap and internal links to list the capturable pages for you to tick.
Full mode with a real browser
Runs Chromium so JavaScript-rendered pages are captured as they actually appear.
Lite mode for shared hosting
HTTP only, no Chromium required, so it runs on hosting that will not let you install a browser.
Rewrites asset paths
Images, CSS, JS and fonts are downloaded and referenced relatively, so the copy runs offline.
JavaScript handling options
Keep the scripts, or strip them for a purely static copy.
Downloads as a zip
Everything arrives in one archive - unzip it and open index.html.
How to clone a website interface
Paste the website address
Enter the full URL of the site you want to copy.
Choose the capture mode
Pick Full if the site renders with JavaScript, or Lite if you only need static HTML or the server has no Chromium.
Run the analysis
The tool crawls the site and returns the pages it found, along with what platform it detected.
Select the pages
Tick the pages you want in the copy and choose how JavaScript should be handled.
Clone and download
Watch the progress, then download the zip, unzip it and open index.html.
Website cloning FAQ
Does the copy work offline?
Yes. Every asset reference is rewritten to a relative path and the images, CSS and JS are downloaded alongside, so unzipping and opening index.html works with no connection.
What is the difference between Full and Lite mode?
Full opens each page in a real Chromium browser, so it captures content that JavaScript builds after load. Lite only fetches the HTML over HTTP - much faster and lighter, but it misses dynamic content; it is the mode for shared hosting, where Chromium cannot be installed.
Can it clone a WordPress site or a React app?
Yes. WordPress and other server-rendered sites work in both modes. Sites built with React, Vue or similar frameworks need Full mode, since their content only exists once JavaScript has run.
Does it copy the backend or the database?
No. It captures only what a browser receives: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and static assets. Server-side code, databases and working forms are not part of the copy.
Is it legal to clone someone else website?
The design, images and content of a website belong to its owner, even once you have a copy on disk. Use this on your own sites, for archiving, or where the owner has given you permission.
How long are clones kept on the server?
Clones and their zips are deleted automatically after the interval set in PIXEL_MIRROR_CLEANUP_HOURS, which defaults to one hour.
Why does this tool need a server when the others do not?
Because browsers block a web page from fetching content from another domain. Only a server can open the source site and download its assets, so that work cannot happen in your browser.
